This time around, designers have taken a decidedly different tack, reflecting a driving new motivation: aerodynamics.
As you can tell, this is not a from the ground-up redesign; the original proportions of the 300C are still intact.
However, the changes to the car alter the look significantly and the look is much smoother. Work done on the aerodynamics should have big payoffs in fuel efficiency.
That is something Chrysler is looking for as it aims to meet CAFE standards imposed by the U.S goverment.
Not much of a picture, but also included is a view of the interior of the 2011 300C. Here, everything IS all-new and a lot more befitting of the car's segment and price point.
Without Mercedes imposing artificial inferiority, Chrysler is allowed to produce a truly world-class interior.
Overall, from what I see I think Chrysler has done a very good job. The 300C still looks uniquely Chrysler but the design is altogether less retro and better adapted to where the market is headed.
