Classifieds' Car Of The Day: 276bhp Saab 9-3 Turbo X

A 276bhp, 155mph Saab? Everybody's got time for that!

Saab 9-3 Turbo X

We're big Saab fans here at CT, but the more recent GM-rehashes from the Swedish carmaker don't normally grab our attention. Unless, of course, it's something like this unusual and very tempting 9-3 Turbo X.

With a turbocharged 2.8-litre V6, this 9-3 develops a meaty 276bhp and 295lb/ft of torque. It's good for 0-60mph in 5.7 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.

Unlike most hot Saabs, which channel massive power through the front tyres, this one has a clever 'XWD' four-wheel drive system developed with the help of Haldex, which sends up to 100 per cent of the torque to the rear depending on the grip at the front. It also has an electronic limited slip diff at the back.

This one we found is up for £7990. It has just 57,000 miles on the clock, and comes with a full service history. Tempted?
