Classifieds' Car Of The Day: Apocalypse-Ready G4 Land Rover
We recently asked you what car you'd choose if you had to live with it for the rest of your life. A startling amount of the suggestions were four-wheel drive, including the Land Rover Defender and Toyota Hilux. We can only assume that you guys are expecting the apocalypse fairly soon...
With that in mind, we were thinking: what would be the ideal car if it all went south? We reckon this third-generation Land Rover Discovery could be a good shout. It was prepared for a Dutch national team to enter the 2008/09 Land Rover G4 Challenge, but was never used in it due to the adventure competition's cancellation.
Having it in G4 spec means you get all sorts of goodies: steel under-body protection, a snorkel, high-power spots, a big roof rack, and of course, a beefy winch. It has a 2.7-litre turbodiesel engine under the bonnet, which is good for 188bhp and 324lb/ft of torque.
The best part is, with a leather-trimmed interior, you can enjoy the end of the world in luxury and comfort. Interested? It's up for sale on Auto Trader at £20,999.
