A Closer Look At The 911-Killing Mercedes-AMG GT

We've seen footage of Mercedes' upcoming AMG GT undergoing testing, and now the anticipation has been turned up a notch with this rather dramatic teaser video from the German company. Judging by the language used - sentences like "when conquering a twisty road is what matters the most" are liberally thrown around in the video - Mercedes really is keen to hammer home the sporting pretensions of its new model.

The outgoing SLS has always been more a GT car, but with Mercedes wanting something to rival the Porsche 911, the AMG GT will be a more focused machine than the car it indirectly replaces. Power is expected to come from a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 producing over 500bhp.
