Comparing the E30 BMW M3 and the Nissan Skyline GT-R

Nothing exciting at the time, eh? What about the RX7 or Supra or Starion or Impulse Turbo or myriad of other things at the time. Hell everyone craps on the Z31 but at the time of that E30, it had more power in top spec. And popup headlights with factory sleepy eyes. Hell since he has an imported car, import yourself a Z31 200ZR with the RB20. The R32 doesn’t even qualify for that era, he should have an R30/31 to compare to the E30. But well, since all the hipster gearheads jumped on this E30 bandwagon, a lot of the forgotten and just as fun vehicles are still lost treasures that can be had for fairly cheap. Sure, I’d love to have an E30 but there are a lot of other things from that era I’d rather have first.

The m3 was not even remotely a copy of the 190e. The e30 had already been in production for years when the Benz came in to racing and proved a seriously big rival to bmw they stepped up and made a higher performance model of their production car to compete just like Mercedes did. Now yes we would not have the m3 without the 190e and for that I am thankful but both are seriously incredible cars. But the M5 did come a few years before the M3 was around .
