Jaguar's determination to bite chunks out of the Porsche 911's sales continues as it officially confirms an AWD F-Type

It’s not been that much of a secret, but Jaguar has now officially confirmed that an all-wheel drive F-Type is on its way. The new car will be part of a 14-strong F-Type model lineup, all of which will appear at the Los Angeles motor show on 19 November.

There aren’t too many facts to go on ahead of the big reveal, but Jag has teased us with one vital statistics: the top-spec R model’s 0-60mph now takes 3.9 seconds; the switch from RWD has chopped 0.2 seconds off its sprint time. Top speed is unchanged at a limited 186mph.

There are no more official hints as to what the rest of the model lineup will include, but is it expected a manual option will be made available. With all-wheel drive and manuals on offer, Jag is mimicking the 911’s model lineup, and will hope to bite further chunks out of the German’s dominance.
