A Crazy F1 Fan Has Been Arrested After Running Across The Track During Practice

A Formula 1 fan has been arrested after running across the Shanghai International Circuit start/finish straight during today’s Chinese Grand Prix second practice.

The incident occurred mid-way through the session. According to the Press Association, he scaled the catch-fencing, jumped over the pit wall and into the Ferrari garage. He was quickly caught by security staff and arrested by police.

F1 fans breaking onto the track is a very rare occurrence. At the 2000 German Grand Prix a former Mercedes employee ran onto the Hockenheimring to protest losing his job, while at the 2003 British Grand Prix a priest managed to sneak onto the Hangar Straight at Silverstone waving religious banners.
