Daihatsu Copen Becomes Mini Nissan GT-R Thanks To Liberty Walk
We’ve seen Japanese tuning firm Liberty Walk unleash its widebody-obsessed treatments on Kei cars before (who can forget that Honda S660), but none compare to this.
The car you see here is a Daihatsu Copen, or at least, it was. It’s now pretty much unrecognisable, having been fitted with a wide-arch kit (of course), a huge rear wing and - most importantly - the face of an R35 Nissan GT-R.
Images of the car were released last week on Liberty Walk’s Facebook page, something we somehow missed. Let’s blame the onslaught of pre-Goodwood reveals for that.
But now we’re having a good look at them and, well… there’s quite a lot to take in for such a small car, isn’t there? It’s cute but angry, like one of those little yappy dogs that like to nip at your heels. It certainly won’t be fast - the Copen’s 658cc inline-three develops just 63bhp, and although the standard car weighs only a little over 800kg, this LB version may well be a bit heavier with all the added bits and pieces. But who cares: we dig it. We think…
The complete ‘GT-K’ kit is available for 415,800 yen, which is about £2800.

Ladies and Gentlemen we are now within a world where we essentially have a Front Wheel Drive GTR. I only have a single question…… What engine can i fit in it?
A Toyota 4A-GE, a Suzuki Hayabusa engine or a Nissan SR20DET would be good……or a 1JZ if you wanna go bonkers…
Well, we wanted the GTR to be lighter.
I want one. I dont care what people say that is awesome.
Is that a baby nsx next to it?
