This DeLorean DMC12 Barn Find Is One Of The Cleanest Low Mileage Examples In The World
Thanks to a starring role in Back To The Future, the DeLorean has become an icon of the automotive world. For collectors, finding a decent DMC12 for sale must feel like Christmas Day, so seeing this particular car is sure to send fans into a frenzy.
What you’re looing at is a rare painted DeLorean, which has been sat under a cover for 31 years. Incredibly, it has completed just 981 miles; the original owner suffered from knee pains after driving it and chucked it in his barn. The interior is absolutely spotless. It looks as fresh as the day it rolled off the production line.
Also, it’s red. Most cars were delivered without paint, the stainless steel bodywork proudly on display. Rumour has it some of the first cars were painted, but the seller isn’t sure whether this was one of those examples or if it was painted by the original dealer; he bought it off the original owner who said it was red when he bought it, but the car had been with the dealer for one year and 200-odd miles at that point.
This car has undergone some restoration to bring it back to its original state, and is now up for sale on eBay, with a comprehensive gallery showcasing just how mint this car is. At time of writing there’s one day left on the auction, with the price just nudging past $30,000 (£19,000).
