If you’re planning on upping the power of your car, it’s likely that some exhaust parts are going to be on the menu. But what size should you go for if it’s for a relatively low power, mostly stock engine, and how much should you spend?

The guys behind the ever fascinating Engine Masters series pitted cheap mufflers against expensive ones to find out, while also attempting to answer the important question of whether or not size matters.

Another thing to consider is weight. My car prob only got 2 hp from exhaust, but it’s 54 pounds lighter than stock was.

After reading this I’m exhausted and am probably gonna cut it short and get strait to the pipe

Less restriction means more power.

If the muffler wasnt a factor, id love to know at what point pipe diameter would begin to lose them performance as diameter decreased and increased as well.
