Before we get onto the sound, though, here are some vital statistics: the M4 has a 431bhp 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six engine that'll take it from 0-62mph in 4.1sec.
Impressive numbers, but it just sounds a little bit... rubbish. That's the view of one onlooker, who shouts "it sounds like my Prius!" And the YouTube commenters haven't been much nicer. Here's a collection of our favourite comments so far:
