Donkey Causes £5k Of Damage After Mistaking Orange McLaren For Carrot
A donkey named Fitus found was at the centre of a bizarre court case in the German federal state of Hesse this week. Why? Because the creature decided to dine out on a McLaren 650S parked near his paddock last year.
Owner Markus Zahn was left with a €5800 (£5100) bill after the curious incident, but wasn’t able to claim compensation from the donkey owner’s insurance company. The reason? The company reckoned the 49-year-old supercar owner should have picked a better parking spot.
The matter went to court, where it was decided the donkey’s owner was indeed liable for the damage.
As to why Fitus thought the 650S constituted a tasty treat, both the police and Zahn have theorised that he mistook the orange McLaren for a carrot…

Owner- “I’m not sure if it’s you or the donkey who is the real dumb ass “
Farmor: “And I think it might be you, for choosing that specific parking spot, and thinking I’m a dumbass for my donkey’s action”
Honestly, even the insurance company says it’s entirely owner’s fault. I honestly can’t see what the farmer could have done to avoid that to happen. Plus, £5k is most likely peanuts for a 650S owner. I hope the farmer will contest the judgement, he can’t be hold responsible for what his donkey did, and can’t definitively be hold responsible for the owner’s decision to park his car there. The owner is honestly a massive douchebag, it’s entirely his fault, yet he sues the farmer in court. I hope something happens to him.
