Don’t Get Merc’d By A £360k SLS
To mark 45 rubber-destroying years of AMG, Mercedes will produce just five super-duper GT3 ‘45th Anniversary’ SLS models.
The price? A cool £360k, which translates to about two normal Mercedes SLSs, 28ish new Renault Clios or 600,000 Mars Bars. Blimey.
The hand-built track car is powered by Merc’s trusty 6.2-litre V8 engine (the same basic unit we played with in the Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series), which kicks out 571hp and is good for a top speed approaching 200mph!
As for the SLS body, this track weapon is finished in special ‘designo magno graphite’ matte paint (also used on the roll cage inside) and features bucket-loads of carbonfibre inside and out.
To make the GT3 that bit more special, you’ll also find a badge with a ‘1 of 5’ logo, plus an indoor car cover with "45 Years of Driving Performance" scribbled on the side.
While this all sounds very tempting, we’d still go for a standard SLS, buy a couple of Renault Clios and enjoy a lifetime supply of Mars Bars instead.
