The €2.5m FXX K Is A Massive Five Seconds Quicker Than The LaFerrari At Fiorano
Want to buy one of those lovely new FXX Ks Ferrari is making? Tough, you can’t. Top Gear is reporting that all 40 of these track day terrorists have been sold, at a price of €2.5 million each. More than double the cost of a regular LaFerrari, in other words. However, the piece of news from the car’s Abu Dhabi unveiling isn’t the price, it’s the pace: the FXX K has lapped Ferrari’s Fiorano test track at 1min 14sec, five seconds quicker than the LaFerrari.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t quite as wide a margin as other XX Ferraris have enjoyed over their road-going cousins - the FXX lapped Fiorano a ludicrous nine seconds quicker than the Enzo - but regardless, five seconds is a huge chunk of time to lop off considering how short the track is.
Other details that have since emerged about the car include the total weight loss over the LaFerrari - 90kg - plus more information about the K’s substantial aero package, which is now known to feature an active rear spoiler that’s able to extend up to 60mm.
