The Faraday Future FFZero1 Is A 1000bhp EV That'd Make Batman Jealous
Nope, this isn’t the next Batmobile, nor is it some crazy concept cooked up by Peugeot that’ll never happen in real life. It’s actually the Faraday Future FFZero1, and it’s a quick EV. Maddeningly, stupidly, Tesla annihilate-ingly quick. Thanks to four electric motors, it’s good for over 1000bhp, enough for a 0-60mph time of under three seconds and a top speed of 200mph.
All sounds jolly exciting, but FFZero1 - revealed at CES - is more of a showcase than a preview of a production car, and what it’s showcasing is the chassis. Faraday Future - a Californian start-up backed by Chinese investors - calls it the ‘Variable Platform Architecture (VPA)’, a flexible system that will allow it to create a variety of different sized vehicles.
Anything up to four motors can be installed, meaning both two and four-wheel drive layouts are possible. The wheelbase and crumple zones can be stretched and more batteries added to increase range, but the front and rear wheel units don’t change, meaning it’ll be much simpler and cheaper for Faraday Future to produce a wide range of vehicles, something it wants to do in around two years.
Watch your back, Tesla…

This would interesting to see on the streets or on track. I wonder what else can Faraday Future cook up.
and yet everyone forgot about this..
why hasn’t that thing been produced yet, is it just meant to push development?
I know where they got the name!
I’d love to see new car manufactures make smaller proper sports cars!
It’s a wow car! It’s worthy a spy movie or something of the kind… I read a preview on it on repokar com, and I can say that the pictures didn’t disappoint me.
I find it quite fun that my family is close friends with the designers family and that his son and i are friends since school :D
I like how CT is reporting this car as if it’s an actual threat to tesla. Tesla has the infrastructure, the experience, and no-one know what the hell the faraday future is. I won’t mind if this is real though.
And Tesla is sitting there like: Well, we actually have two car models on the road. What decade is your concept going into production?
And now the wheels. Whats uh the deal with them? Im gonna go out on a limb and say Piezoelectric sensors :P
