It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences. - #TeamPW
A friend of Paul's who was present at Saturday's charity event told AP Radio the actor had spent the day "doing what he loved".
"He was very happy. He was smiling at everybody, just tickled that all these people came out to support this charity. He was doing what he loved. He was surrounded by friends, surrounded by cars."
It's not yet clear how Rodas lost control of the Porsche. Like you guys no doubt are, we're all stunned and saddened by this news. Paul is survived by his daughter, Meadow, who is 15.
In one of Paul Walker's final interviews by I Am Rogue, the star discusses his growth as an actor and icon, and whether we can expect to see him in the Fast & Furious 8 upcoming blockbuster. His reply?
