The era of Ferrari’s naturally-aspirated, V8-powered supercars may well be coming to an end, but we don’t mind so much given that this gorgeous piece of metal is effectively the swansong. It’s called the 458 MM Speciale, and it’s just been revealed at Fiorano circuit after being signed off by chief Ferrari test driver Dario Benuzzi.

Under the skin you’ll find all the same oily bits as the regular 458 Speciale - meaning a 4.5-litre, 597bhp V8 and a chassis to die for - but everything on top has been changed.

There are redesigned carbon composite bumpers at the front and rear, and redesigned light clusters at both ends. We don’t know about you, but we’re particularly fond of what’s going on at the rear.

The bodywork is all new and made from handcrafted aluminium, with the A-pillars painted black to create a visor-style wraparound windscreen which Ferrari says is “very much in the style of the 1984 Ferrari GTO”. The whole shebang is finished in Bianco Italia, with an Italian flag-inspired set of stripes.

Want one? Tough, it’s just a one-off, built especially for an “enthusiastic British owner.” We have no idea who this owner is, but he or she clearly has a lot of taste.

Yes, it looks a lot like a 288 GTO. It has, like, four wheels and… uhh… yeah, that’s pretty much it.

Wow! That looks awesome! I can see a hint of Ford GT in it, love the Italian flag stripes down the middle too!

The MM bit in the name wouldn’t hint at the initials of the mysterious owner would they? Remember when Ferrari made the one off SP-12 EC for Eric Clapton?

MM actually stands for Mille Miglia, the name was used back in the 50’s on racing cars such as the 290 MM and 375 MM, as these cars did the Mille Miglia.
