Ferrari's Outrageous F1 Prototype Would Make Formula 1 Watchable Again
This is what Ferrari wants Formula 1 to look like in the future. The famous team revealed an exciting concept design, in the hope of showing that dramatic changes to the regulations should be considered.
The car features a double decker front wing, sidepods sculpted around the wheels and a large, wide rear wing. The futuristic concept was created by Ferrari’s in-house design studio, in close co-operation with the F1 aerodynamic department.
Ferrari’s ‘F1 Concept’ has been created to show the overhaul in car design that the Prancing Horse thinks is necessary to bring excitement back to the sport, but follows the general concept of the current rules to demonstrate how easy it would be to implement such changes.
The F1 Commission meets in Geneva on Tuesday to discuss the future rules. Wider cars, larger tyres, more downforce and more powerful, 1000bhp engines are reported to be tabled for discussion.
