The First Professional Drone Racing Competition Is Here And It Looks Fantastic
The Drone Racing League reckons it's the 'sport of the future' thanks to drones flown by pilots in first-person view, and awesome airborne obstacle courses that cut through some wicked locations

SPORTS stars of the future? I don’t think so. Bowlers aren’t considered SPORTS stars so I highly doubt anyone who sits down and pilots a drone with no risk to himself or herself is a sports star.
It looks cool asf but it’s not going to grow, now or ever. It’ll just be a gimmick that goes viral a couple times but that’s it.
You should try it. It’s addicting. I’m starting into it and it a ton of fun.
I think it’s neat but without big money, and big crashes it’ll never fully capture a large audience. It reminds me of those fight scenes in movies that are fluffed up with a super-shaky camera.
So basically, fancy rc quadcopter racing?
Ok, I’ll be the one to bring it up… there’s no cars in this post
But it’s about racing. Isn’t thst enough? ;)
Tha’s really cool.
Where do I sign up?
Hey a fellow CTzen FPV flyer! Cheers!
Sounds better than F1 right now
Not sure if this will last but it’s cool. I find that it didn’t bring the sense of fear that any race involving people does, their’s no sense of fear, pride and danger that you get with cars, boats, planes, bikes or anything else that we race.
I agree, though as I’m flying (with a little 10x10cm drone, lol), after those 10 minutes I come back dripping sweat as it’s really intense. It’s more like PC gaming, just with better graphics and real life physics
My first contact with fpv racing was with this Video https://youtu.be/6zDDsX5xYcA
But i’ve never seen a big course like this. Great things will come :D
