Footage And More Details Of Rallycross In Project Cars 2 Are Here
It’s been a while since we found out Rallycross was being added to Project Cars 2, but now we have more details and snazzy new footage from the up-coming racing title.
PC2 is set to hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, as well as PC, later in 2017 – a release date has still not yet been confirmed, but they’re keeping firm on late this year.
Not much had been revealed about Rallycross until now, but we now have a trailer dedicated to the discipline and more information to drool over.
A number of official Rallycross cars – from both the FIA World Rallycross Championship and Global Rallycross Championship – will be playable in PC2.
There’s the Honda Civic Coupe, VW Polo WRX, Ford Focus RS WRX and Mini Countryman RX, plus the classic Ford Escort RS 1600 and the OMSE Supercar Lites machine.
Slightly Mad Studios also confirmed to us that there are fictional Renault and Mercedes Rallycross cars in the game, which is a cool extra detail.
PC2 has signed drivers such as Honda’s Mitchell deJong and Oliver Eriksson as consultants, and developed a partnership with the OMSE team. All this is in a bid to create an authentic Rallycross experience, which takes the game away from its tarmac-only roots.
We managed to get a little taster of Rallycross in an early version of PC2 (more on that soon) and the signs are encouraging - it’s fun, fast and frantic, just like the sport itself.
Some of the most famous Rallycross venues are also part of the game – including Daytona in the USA, Lankebanen in Norway, plus the UK’s Knockhill and, of course, Lydden Hill.
As a whole, the feature should give PC2 gamers a more varied motorsport experience, taking it off-road with mixed, dirt and even snow terrain.
