The Ford Mustang Bullitt Costs Almost As Much As A BMW M2 Competiton

Weighing in at £47,145, the special-edition Mustang is about £2000 less than the new M2 in the UK. Which would you have?
The Ford Mustang Bullitt Costs Almost As Much As A BMW M2 Competiton

UK pricing has just been released for the new Ford Mustang Bullitt, and there’s no easy way to say it: the car costs almost the same in pounds sterling as it does in US Dollars. As a reminder, it’s $47,495 Stateside, while in the UK you’ll be expected to stump up £47,145.

That’s no huge surprise when the cheapest GT V8 is £41,095 on our shores, and in any case, you’re still getting a lot of car for the money. Along with the tweaked ‘Highland Green’ exterior - intended to echo the spec of the car featured in the Steve McQueen film Bullitt - the newest member of the ‘Stang family has a more powerful V8. And we’re suckers for power hikes.

The right-hand drive models are slightly less powerful than their US counterparts though, developing 452bhp as opposed to 475bhp. As with the standard RHD GT’s power deficit, that’s to do with the steering column position necessitating a different exhaust manifold. Other additions include a fatter anti-roll bar, Recaro sports seats and a special Bullitt plaque.

The car can be ordered now, and the first few should be in the hands of customers by September. What it can offer for the price is quite unique, so it’s hard to find a decent basis of comparison. But how’s this: a BMW M2 Competition is around £2000 more, so what would you have? The precision tool from Bavaria, or this rumbly slice of Americana?

Mustang, of course. And I’m a Camaro fan. BMW M2 is the present for a spoiled girl with rich parents who just got her driving license.

First of all, I’ve yet to see an M2 be driven by a spoiled girl who just got her driving license and it’s a kickass sports car designed for driving enthusiasts. Second of all, no need for the unnecessary salt.

The M2 is fun to drive but next to the Mustang there’s no contest. It’s the Mustang for me!

I’m sorry (no I’m not) but the GT is by far the better deal.
