Forget The LaFerrari XX, The McLaren 'P1 Track' Has You Covered

McLaren has written to owners of its P1 hybrid hypercar, asking if they'd be interested in a more hardcore, track-only version

You could hardly accuse the McLaren P1 of being soft, but regardless, an even more hardcore version could be on the way. Autocar reports that all 375 owners and prospective owners of the 908bhp P1 hypercar have been written to by McLaren, asking if they would be interested in a track-only version. This comes after several owners expressed an interest in just that.

If production of the 'P1 Track' goes ahead, the aggressiveness of the already extreme bodywork would be turned up a notch, while the suspension would be permanently locked in its lowest position, unlike the road car with its changeable ride height. Like Ferrari's XX programme - which is set to include a track-only LaFerrari - McLaren would keep the cars, only allowing owners to drive them at specially organised track events. Also, only owners of the P1 roadcar would be able to purchase the track version.
