Formula E Car Executes The Strangest Donuts We've Ever Seen
Formula E is a new FIA single-seater series that will burst, rather quietly, onto the scene in September 2014. You can probably tell from the name, but the cars will be powered electrically via a 200kw battery supplied by Williams Advanced Engineering.
The first machine homologated for the championship is the Spark-Renault SRT_01E that you can see in this video below. It'll go from 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds and will reach a top speed of 160mph. Former Virgin Racing F1 driver Lucas di Grassi is the series' official test driver and had the chance to complete some donuts while testing the car, with very odd results.
The sound is certainly something that will take some getting used to, with the noise kicked out by the Spark Renault reminiscent of a remote control car. These are certainly some strange tasting donuts...
