Forza 7 Has Gone Back To The Old VIP Reward System Following Fan Criticism

In the past, having a VIP membership in a Forza Motorsport game gave players a permanent boost of winning double credits for every race. But for Forza 7, VIP players only get the boost with the use of the five ‘mod cards’ that come with the game - and they run out after 25 races.

To make matters worse, it wasn’t clear that this change was being made, and players were angry to find out that the extra money they’d spent on becoming a VIP wasn’t getting them as much as it used to.

In the wake of the backlash, Turn 10 has announced they’ll not only be making the description clearer, they’ll also be going back to the old VIP system where players will get the double credits boost forever.

Studio head Alan Hartman said:

“Over the weekend we heard loud and clear from Ultimate Edition owners expressing frustration over the VIP membership offer in Forza Motorsport 7. We immediately updated the VIP description in the Windows Store to alleviate any future confusion. As head of the studio, I apologize for any confusion or frustration our players may have experienced.

“Going forward, we will continue to ensure that Forza Motorsport 7 VIPs receive the most value for their VIP membership, including new experiences and great content.”

Turn 10 is already working on the change and will release it in an update “as soon as possible,” but in the meantime, VIP players will get 1 million credits and four Forza Edition cars:

  • 2017 Acura NSX Forza Edition
  • 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Forza Edition
  • 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 Forza Edition
  • 2010 Maserati Gran Turismo S Forza Edition

Even though they’re just giving the players what they thought they were paying for in the first place, it’s great that the game’s makers have actually listened to - and acted upon - the fans criticisms so quickly.
