A Frustrated Cop Catches Numerous Police Officers Speeding, But Knows There's Nothing He Can Do

A Washington State Patrol Aircraft caught officers speeding in unmarked cars on their way to a conference, some travelling in excess of 20mph above the limit, but none were stopped

On 8 October, a Washington State Patrol aircraft was monitoring speeds on Highway 2, just outside of Wenatchee, Washington. The posted speed limit for that section is 60mph, however the aircraft caught a number of speeders hitting in excess of 80mph.

In exchanges recorded by a civilian, the officers in the aircraft can be heard talking to officers in a patrol car, who report that the speeders are actually police officers, late to a drug conference. They aren’t stopped.

According to reports, the officers on the ground felt uncomfortable about the situation, so were only handing out warnings to civilian drivers they did stop. After this footage went public, WSP decided that any tickets handed out that day, on that section of road, would be voided.
