The Future Is Green For Lexus

Lexus are embracing the world of green. No, that's not tree-huggers or dreadlocks, but new, efficient hybrid engines...

However you like to travel, be it by train, bus or bicycle, it's difficult to deny that the most popular and widespread form of transport in the world is still the car.

While some of our favorite experiences travelling often involve long road trips through towns that we have never heard of and countryside we have never seen (cough, Wales), the environmental impact of travelling everywhere by car should not be ignored.

Fortunately, as people and regular travelers become more aware of the environmental issues associated with automobile travel, there has been a growing impetus on the need for cars powered in different ways. One such example is the development of new hybrid cars.

Hybrid cars offer a different way to move around the world, meet new people and see new places. This is due to the introduction of a system of dual power, in which the car is powered by both a small electric engine and a larger, traditional petrol engine. Each is used to power the car at different times.

The electric motor when the car is moving at lower speeds and accelerating or decelerating and the petrol engine at higher cruising speeds. Interestingly, the battery of the electric motor is usually charged by the energy generated when the car itself brakes. This means it doesn’t consume huge amounts of energy and reduces the amount of petrol necessary to run the vehicle, lowering both fuel costs and emissions.

One of the most important companies involved in developing this green technology is Lexus UK, who actually have a long history of using and manufacturing environmentally friendly technology for use in motor vehicles.

As the company has become better and better at producing cars that offer the performance consumers require, while also remaining more environmentally friendly, they have been able to push the boundaries of what we thought was possible in a hybrid car. New engines have been made more powerful, without increasing emissions and new build materials make the car lighter than ever before.

Lexus have shown, through their commitment to hybrid technology, that there definitely is the possibility of a green future in the automobile industry and also given hope to many drivers that soon they’ll be able to use their cars in a way that doesn’t have such a negative impact on the environment.

As hybrid technology continues to be developed going into the future, it will become more efficient, cheaper to produce and more widespread than ever before. This should give those that enjoy traveling around the world by motor vehicle an opportunity to get out on the road once again without feeling guilty about their impact on the environment.
