BMW DesignworksUSA has created this carport concept to accompany its i3 and i8 electric cars. The idea is to give owners somewhere to charge their car without having to worry about the cost of electricity.
The design is inspired by the cars themselves, featuring carbonfibre and bamboo. Bamboo was chosen as it grows rapidly, making it a sustainable raw material. Regularly powering the car with this solar energy "enables a high degree of CO2-neutral usage."
