Giorgi Tevzadze, the man behind the outrageous M5 hoonage in Georgia, has sadly died. It has been a difficult time recently in the world of motoring as we have tragically lost some genuinely good guys.

Opinion has always been split over Tevzadze. His driving skills were frankly out of this world, putting his M5 into all manner of incredible drift angles as he negotiated the crowded roads of Georgia. That said, it was always difficult to watch him drive without thinking that it could all end in tragedy. No matter how skilled he may have been his actions could never be condoned.

Details of Tevzadze's death are relatively sparse and we don't like to speculate, but what is known is that he was a passenger in his famous M5 when it seemingly lost control and slammed into a tree. The driver appears to be okay. If these details prove accurate, it would be the ultimate tragic irony and a lesson that came too late - if you play with fire, you will get burnt.

Rest in peace, Giorgi.
