A German Tuner Is Building 20 Corvette Shooting Brakes
Feast your peepers on a highly exclusive shooting brake adaptation of Chevrolet’s C7 Corvette. Built, bizarrely, by Opel modification specialist Bitter Cars, it’s a throwback to its 1970s Opel Diplomat-based shooting brake called the CD.
The CD used a Chevrolet V8 and it looks as though Bitter is looking to rekindle a relationship there. Bitter posted images to its social media accounts a few days ago of the unnamed creation along with claims that it will be displayed at the Geneva Motor Show… in 2020.
Of the 20, company boss Erich Bitter claims the first two have already been sold. There are few other details forthcoming, so we’ll have to use a little creative licence. The C7 Corvette, the last to use a front-engine layout before the mid-engined C8 arrives, has a 0-62mph time of around 4.5 seconds on the way to a 180mph surrender.
The conversion lifts the roof line so that it meets new C-pillars behind the rear wheels. The shoulder line is the same so the side panels can be left untouched. The rear light clusters look like they might be new and the C7’s gorgeous four round exhaust tips have been swapped for two vaguely trapezoidal ones.
Bitter normally spends its time offering modifications for humble Opels, even as far down the range as the Adam. After a failed attempt to launch its Holden Monaro-based CD2 concept back in 2003, the company is set for another try at breaking into the wider market.
There’s no word on how long the shooting brake conversion might take or what the cost would be, but we suspect this is one of those ‘if you have to ask…’ moments.

Meh I’m not a huge fan of shooting brakes imo they just look weird and ruin the lines of the car but this is my opinion and none of y’all have to agree
Bitter Cars might not be the best name on an international scale
The only reason I know the name is because of an episode of The Goldbergs. It broke down 2 days after his dad bought it
Yep, it’s not like this was already a thing.
For real! The Callaway Aerowagon has been around for a while now.
IMO shooting breaks are the best looking cars. I just love them
Buuuuuut as long as they are 4 seaters. I hate 2 seater shooting breaks with burning passion.
tbh it’s best to leave the design alone (like how Callaway did). This looks just wrong
Looks very similar to a ferrari 812 superfast
Wow, that is ugly. The Callaway version looked nicer for sure
ARE THAT CHALLENGER TAILLIGHTS I SEE?!
Eh, I’m not a big fan of those taillights. They’d look more at home on something like a Lincoln.
