GRID Autosport Is Now Available As An iOS App
Codemasters’ GRID series was a pretty entertaining way of enjoying a racing game without the pressure and complexity of a full sim. We’ll forgive you if you’d forgotten about it seeing as the last entry - GRID Autosport - was released way back in 2014, but now it has returned. Sort of. Why? Because GRID Autosport has now been remade for iOS platforms.
The port has been done by publishers Feral Interactive and promises to bring “console quality” gaming to your iPhone or iPad (with an Android release apparently planned for the future). It certainly looks pretty impressive from the screenshots and trailer.
You’ll need a minimum of 6GB on your device to download it (8GB is recommended) and you’ll also have to have a fairly recent device in order to run it - anything older than an iPhone SE or iPad pro won’t cut it.
Whilst rival games like Real Racing 3 are free to download and make their money through in-app purchases, GRID Autosport requires a one-off payment of $9.99 - and that’s it. Your money gets you plenty of content, too - there are 100 cars and 100 tracks in the base game, with more being available as free downloads.
Even though it’s not the most recent racing game, it was a lot of fun on consoles and it should translate to mobile platforms pretty well. If it plays as good as it looks, it should be a winner!

Android users be like: WAT
Not even Grid will make me move to iOS
I am one of them and i can relate
WAT
It will be available for Android before the end of the year.
Waiting for the android users to appear
Why?
Really can’t see the point of this. The game play looked absolutely terrible. Full lock left, full lock right.
Now DiRT 3, please
Have you got either on console or pc?
Now only if it didnt cost 15 dollars with in app purchases
The In-App Purchases are actually free content, I think (Yes I know I sound stupid rn)
I CAN’T AFFORD IT NOOOOO AND MY PARENTS THINK IT’S TOO EXPENSIVE!!! WHYYYY
9.99 bucks. What a shame……………………………
8GB is recommended
That’s half the storage of my phone ffs…
Yeah my phone has 8GB total storage lol
I have 2g rip
Imo, it looks bad, especially because it has 6GB and is not free
No dynamic shadows, no rain feature (wet road, raindrop shaders, rain refraction), no dirtylens, no visual damage, NO DYNAMIC INTERIORS (no srsly. It has some pixelated textures instead of an actual tachometer), etc. Stuff that RR3 and NFS NL have.
Both Android and iOS flagships can run Unreal Engine 4 just fine with all the effects turned on.
Dont tell me they couldnt squeeze in some dynamic shadows, at least.
Again, is a paid game. Is supposed to be a premium experience, but it cant even reach the graphics level of free games.
This is the best example of wasted potential.
Vulkan API was integrated for literally nothing, if developers dont become competitive in the graphics department.
bro….. this game is 6gb, was made 4 years ago and is on ios. What do you expect?
Fxxking IOS gets the special treatment……
What special treatment? They’re just the ones pyjama for it lol
