This Guy Is Proof That The Mulholland Highway Gives Zero Damns About Bikers
The Mulholland highway is well known for kids in daddy's car crashing while trying to show off for the cameras, but the road itself is bumpy as hell and very challenging for bikers. Look at the way it spits this poor guy off...
Here’s what makes the Mulholland highway so dangerous for bikers.

Props to the guy right behind him to maintain control! Not easy to react to something like that within that proximity and still maintain control yourself.
i totally agree. when clicking the link i noticed the bike behind him so i already cringed xd
The thing I have to wonder is did the guy behind arguably cause that by pressuring him to enter at a speed he wasn’t comfortable with? :/
well then man up and deal with that pressure? :D no matter if on car, bike, bicycle, always go into corners at what speed you want, if someone gets pissed its their fault :)
I think I know you
Is it legal to remove your mirrors in the US?
Depends on the state but most states require you to have one mirror. But honestly I’ve never seen anyone have an issue with not having any.
What caused this guy to fall here?
Possibly brand new tyres that were not scrubbed in yet or motor stalled because of too high gear selection, just guessing what it might be, shame though.
There was a bump right as he was dropping his elbow, maybe he couldn’t support his weight leaning that hard?
Not sure what you guys are watching this video on, but on my computer it clearly shows the guys front wheel bouncing up and down leaving the road surface as he’s turning. The tire left the road at least 3 times right before it finally let go.
Suspension was too stiff, hit a bump, foot get’s knocked off peg, weight goes into his bars, bars twist, front end washes out…. If the suspension took the bump properly he wouldn’t put any input through the bars and would sail right through it. Rider stated the tires were 2 weeks old plenty of heat cycles in in. Had been riding for 5 minutes prior so tires were upto temp.
If you watch it in super slow motion you’ll see that his front tire lost grip (maybe the bump maybe something else) and everything else was in response to that. I’ve lost my front end just like that twice before too.
Glad to see him get up and be fine. Could have been much worse if he didn’t wear that gear
No prisoners??? He is damn lucky he got away with such a minor lowside. No injury, minor bike damage. Getting away with this much is a blessing when you treat public roads like a racetrack. Maybe this will stuff his chicken brain with enough wisdom to start riding with a safety reserve. Also the CBR in the back did great avoiding him, thank the brains that found it fit to equip bikes with ABS recently.
had to put the knee down.
Had to put his body in the correct corner-position instead of sitting like a stiff.
My friend told me about this ‘cause she was there with her own bike and my reaction was just laughing out loud
if this road is rough come ride any road in Australia lol
I want to say he was going about 35 mph or slower. There’s two reasons why he went down. First one, he said, “brand new tires.” Yeah brand new tires tend to be really slippery and that’s why you’re supposed to dirt them up or work your way into them. The second one? Skills, he had none, or he freeze up, everyone has bad days, he didn’t counter steer when he started loosing the rear end, on the contrary. He turned into the turn and then it was too late to counter steer.
