Is This Guy Right To Teach His 12-Year-Old Son To Do Burnouts?
Australian petrolhead Sam Surace has been branded as "irresponsible and wreckless" by Victoria Police after this video surfaced, which shows his 12-year-old son, Brandon, doing a burnout in a Chrysler Neon. It turns out Sam regularly teaches Brandon and his seven-year-old brother Joshua the art of burnouts, all on private property. Surace has been explaining and defending his actions in news interviews.
Burnouts and other car-related exploits deemed 'anti-social' are not taken lightly in Australia, where there are 'anti-hoon' laws which can result in offenders' cars being impounded. Lewis Hamilton even found himself up against these laws after his burnouts in a Mercedes C63 two days before the 2010 Australian Grand Prix landed him a fine.
Sam Surace, however, makes the point that allowing his kids to practice burnouts and drive on his farm teaches good car control and improves their reactions.
So what do you think? Do you agree with Sam, or are his actions irresponsible? Vote in the poll below.
