Harry Styles Heads In One Direction Only In His Audi R8
Bad hair, bad music but thankfully good taste in cars.
Bad hair, bad music but thankfully good taste in cars. Some phrases we're going to run with to describe Mr Harry Styles, "lead singer" of pop music group One Direction, a boy band that has become so hip that he could afford to treat himself to one of the most desirable supercars out there; the Audi R8.
Let's assume most of you CT fans out there know the R8 better than the back of your hand but just in case you've been MIA for the past 5 years, here's a little reminder. Harry's Audi R8 has a 4.2 V8 FSI sitting on the chassis' midpoint behind the driver's head which produces 424bhp and launching it from 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds all the way up to a top speed of 187mph. Prices for the lean, mean German machine start at £88k.
At 18 years old insurance on a hatchback would set Mr Styles back a couple of grand, so just imagine what the bill is like to insure one of these German supercars! Plus, if he had had some balls and ponied up for the V10 R8 (which has more equipment as standard, a Lamborghini engine planted in the middle and is the one I personally would recommend) the insurance would be even worse!
What Mr Styles needs to realise is leaving a car like that in a dodgy alleyway behind a horrible WagonR+ is a bit risky. Not only did Jay Kay learn this the hard way with his Ferrari Enzo, Tamara Ecclestone's brand new Bentley Continental GT got a beating a couple of days ago after being left on a pavement.
This is in fact the second car Mr Styles has ever owned with a Range Rover Sport being his first. The first cars that guys like myself have are usually beaten up superminis, never mind a Rangie!
The few perks from being in a cheesy boy band rear their heads as often as a Daily Mail reporter. As seen from these snaps, girls swarm over his parents' driveway 24/7 and he's loaded with a sleek Audi to cruise to the studio in. The real question? Is Caroline Flack now pestering him for 'a lift'...
