Here Are The First Pics Of McLaren's Stunning New 2015 F1 Car
It’s brand new, it’s packing Honda power and it doesn’t have a silly nose cone. Yep, McLaren’s new MP4-30 is here. It’s been launched online today, showing off the team’s updated livery and a new, lower and more elegant nose design. Much more like it.
Honda last powered a McLaren F1 car in 1992, with the Japanese firm returning to the sport this year to rekindle its iconic partnership with the Woking-based outfit.
Fernando Alonso is back at McLaren after his turbulent 2007 season at the team, partnering 2009 champion Jenson Button. Alonso will be the first to drive the car at the opening pre-season test, which takes place in Jerez from 1-4 February.
It’s a new and exciting era for McLaren, but the team knows success won’t be immediate. Honda is already on the back foot and McLaren has been stuck in the midfield for the last two seasons, with the 2012 Brazilian Grand Prix being its last victory.
