Here's All The Reason Volkswagen Needs To Build A Jetta GTI
One of our favourite casual car designers has mocked-up a Jetta GTI, and we reckon Volkswagen should hurry up and build it
It’s only a couple of days since Volkswagen launched the new Jetta saloon for the US market, but while we know there’s a 210bhp but softly-sprung GLI model incoming, what about a GTI?
We’ve featured plenty of renders from designer X-Tomi, and this is no disappointment. Bold, ‘bladed’ alloy wheels sit just beneath the arches of the imaginary hot saloon, while the black grille and vent strakes at the front are very America, right now. It also has a black roof, which is neat.
We think it looks pretty good. Just don’t ask us what the hell Facebook’s translation service means by ‘threshold solution’…

In my honest opinion, I think we need some normal plain jane cars. Not every car has to have a sporty 250+ hp model…
Agreed ! I think too many GTI/Nismo/etc models across a brand’s range bastardises and trivialises the special badge

Just make the GLI better, and perform like a baby gti. Jetta has always been GLI. Let the golf keep it’s iconic GTI nameplate.
What VW needs to do make powerful engines that sit above the VR6…and stick that in the jetta and passat if not a Arteon…and a sportscar in the future…
jetta is too small for functioning properly with a VR6 let alone something bigger
