Here's A Ford Mustang Suffering Death By Lava
Following a series of earthquakes, the Kilauea volcano on the Island of Hawaii has been erupting, resulting in a lava flow making its way through the local area. Almost 2000 residents have been evacuated and dozens of properties have been destroyed by the flow, and inevitably, a few cars have been consumed by the magma too.
This dramatic footage from CBS shows the moment a fourth-generation Mustang - and a cute-looking R2-D2 mail box - were eaten by the slow but potent lava flow. If anything though, it’s the footage of the metal gate being popped open at the beginning of the video that’s more eerie to watch.
Kilauea is one of the world’s most active volcanoes. Although the current eruption ‘event’ - which has seen new fissures and vents open up - only started on 3 May, the volcano has been in an ongoing state of eruption from since 1983.
