Here's How Bulletproof An Old Mercedes S-Class Isn't
It’s a common movie trope: the good guys are getting shot at while escaping in a car, but so long as they duck from the windows, they’ll be fine. Or perhaps our heroes are on the run and under fire, finding cover behind some parked vehicles. But how would these scenarios play out IRL for the protagonists? Perhaps predictably, not very well.
As shown in this, um, informative video from gun-toting YouTuber Edwin Sarkissian - utilising a W220-generation Mercedes S-Class - a range of weapons including a shotgun, a 9mm pistol and several assault rifles can easily pierce a car’s passenger compartment. As for the whole using cars for cover thing, how effective that is depends on what kind of guns the bad guys are using.
Rounds from the shotgun and the Glock 19 pistol didn’t go all the way through the old Mercedes, but it wasn’t the same story for the Desert Eagle and various assault rifles deployed later in the video.

Time to make true to life movies again…
Poor evo
Reminds me of a time Jeremy put sand in the doors of an MX5 hoping it would be bulletproof
[DELETED]
He did it wrong, he had to fit the sand sack there for it to be bulletproof
we need more gun
Ummm… Assault “rivals”?

Poor S-Class
And so it’s time to bulletproof our car Top Gear style
Lots of US police cars have bullet proof door panels fitted as an option, but it takes 8 normal car doors to stop a bullet fired from a Magnum
Then again no thug uses magnum rounds
did anyone see Hitman’s bodyguard?
