Here's How Incredible A Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Would Look
With 503bhp on tap, the hottest version of the new Mercedes-AMG GT isn’t what you’d call underpowered. However, AMG is known for producing even more manic ‘Black Series’ editions of its already deranged road cars, as evidenced by the CLK we looked at yesterday. The company did it with the SLS - the GT’s predecessor - too, so we can expect the latest AMG to get the Black treatment eventually. And this is how we reckon it’ll look.
The range-topping GT S would be the most obvious starting point for the GT Black. If the SLS and other Black Series cars are anything to go by, the hardcore version of the GT S would receive lower and stiffer suspension, plus a power hike to bring the 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 up to about 560bhp. To give more downforce, the automatically raising spoiler would be replaced with a much higher fixed wing, most likely made from carbonfibre.
A new diffuser would go in at the rear along with brake cooling ducts, as well as a lower splitter and gurney flaps on the front bumper. It’d also sprout a new pair of low side skirts, with additional brake cooling ducts. To keep the weight down, the interior would be stripped back with some of the sound deadening removed, and the standard seats would be replaced with lighter bucket items.
So, what do you think of our creation?
