Here's The New Renault Megane RS A Month Before You're Supposed To See It
There’s still over a month to go until the planned debut of Renault Sport’s new hot Megane, but we’re getting an early preview thanks to a set of leaked images.
They seem to have appeared first on Facebook before being picked up by Motor 1, and look to have been - awkwardly - taken inside a Renault facility. On closer inspection, and you can see a camouflaged prototype in the blurred-out background of two of the images.
The pictures give us our best look yet at the new hot hatch, showing a front end that’s been given the Clio 220 Trophy’s Renault Sport logo-shaped fog lights. It’s also gained some wider wheel arches, with brake ducts at the front and rear. Also at the back you’ll find a single, trapezoid exhaust exit.
While this is the first time we’re seeing both the front and the rear of a physical car, we’ve already had a good look at illustrations of the spicy Megane from all angles thanks to patent images that emerged last month. So we have a good idea of how it looks, but we still don’t know for sure what will power it - the latest rumours suggest a turbocharged inline-four cylinder engine, with an output of around 300bhp.
We’ll know all when the car receives its full reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show on 12 September.

Is it that hard to hide a single picture? Every single car nowadays is like an iPhone. Leaking so easily that no one even bothers to actually see it debut.
Gotta love those proportions… those curves… and the sound of 300 horsies.
These fog lights are genius.
Sometimes I think that manufacturers leak pictures on purpose to get in the picture without any effort…
I LOVE IT
