Here's What The BMW M8 Prototype Sounds Like
Just days after revealing the 8-series concept, BMW decided to give the Mercedes-AMG S63 something to worry about by whipping out a prototype M8 at the Nurburgring 24 Hours.
With BMW trademarking the ‘M8’ name some time ago it was something we’ve been expecting - we just didn’t think we’d see it quite so soon. Handily, CT video chief Alex was on the ground at the ‘Ring with CT cameraman George during the reveal, and were able to take a closer look at the car.
BMW may be keeping schtum about the powerplant of the M8, but there’s nothing quiet about the exhaust on the prototype. The pipework is quite clearly hooked up to a V8 of some description, perhaps a motor related to BMW’s tried-and-tested 4.4-litre twin-turbo unit.
Whatever it is, it sounds nicely angry, don’t you think?
Comments

It’s a pity that they didn’t use the V12 from the M760i but it sounds great anyway. Can’t wait to see the final version
