McLaren turned a profit last year for the first time since it re-entered the production car game in 2009, and expects to be absolutely rolling in cash by the end of this year.

2013 was a bumper year thanks to the increasing popularity of the 12C, but also due to the fact the incredible P1 was unveiled. This year, turnover is expected to double and profit could even increase four-fold as customers begin taking delivery of the hypercar. Furthermore, every P1 has been sold, and reception for the new 650S has been largely positive.

McLaren's aggressive growth is evidenced by the fact it is planning to introduce a new model every year in an attempt to steal customers from the likes of Ferrari. Macca's chief development driver Chris Goodwin told Auto Express that further to the standard 650S, a hardcore version is in the works. The track-prepped 650S will likely get stripped of excess weight with extra aero outside, while the 3.8-litre V8's 641bhp will probably be given a little extra push.

We can't wait to see the incredible cars this battle between Maranello and Woking produces.
