Here's Your First Proper Look At Aston Martin's Super-Exclusive Lagonda
When Aston Martin revealed it was reviving the Lagonda name with a new, super-exclusive super saloon, it skimped a little with the pictures, giving just a single side-on shot and a picture of a partially completed car lurking in the shadows of a factory. Now though, thanks to some snaps released by Oman Air - the company responsible for shipping the Lagonda to Oman for testing purposes - we can get a good look at this elegant beast.
As we’d gathered from the previous side-on shot, it looks a lot like the Rapide saloon, but with numerous styling cues taken from the old Aston Martin Lagonda saloon produced in the 1970s and 80s.
Technical details are still scarce, but it’s known to be built on Aston’s VH architecture, with the Rapide’s 550bhp 5.9-litre V12 being the most likely power plant of choice.
If all this sounds tempting, and you have the truck load of money which will no doubt be needed to secure the keys (pricing hasn’t been announced), it’s unlikely you’ll be able to buy it. The Aston Martin ‘Q division’ built car will only be offered in the Middle Eastern market, and will be sold by invitation only.
