This Hero Is Making A V12 Using A Pair Of Toyota Supra Engines
You spot some rather interesting things while browsing Reddit, but nothing could prepare us for what we stumbled upon this morning. One user posted up his uncle’s engine project, and it’s gloriously bonkers. He’s chopped off the bottom of two 2.5-litre 1JZ-GTE Supra straight-sixes, and joined them together at a 120-degree V angle, creating a ‘Frankenstein V12’. It sports a bespoke crankshaft, and a custom fabricated oil pan.
Of course, Toyota does already have a V12 engine in its history in the form of the 5.0-litre GZ, but the fact that this guy has taken it upon himself to create his own gets him a doff of the proverbial cap from us. The project still has some way to go, but once it’s finished, it should be rather epic. The plan is to turbocharge it, with a target output of 800bhp, which should make the custom tube-framed car it’s destined for a rather potent machine.
