This Hilarious PVC Pipe Mod Turns $300 Kei Cars Into Drift Kings
Japanese car culture channel Noriyaro checks out an ingenious new drifting trend along similar lines to tray drifting
If the concept of tray drifting is just too mainstream for you, here’s a quirky new fad emerging in Japan that might interest you.
As shown in this video from Noriyaro, a group of drifters usually known for sliding around in Toyota AE86s have bought a bunch of circa-$300 kei cars, and wrapped the rear tyres in small sections of PVC pipe. Goodbye rear-end grip, hello hilarious low-speed drift shenanigans.
It’s cheap, effective and looks like serious fun. Some of the cars even have water spray system that keeps the PVC sections cool, preventing them from over-heating and cracking. It’s a clever form of tomfoolery, this.
Anyone else fancy giving this a go…?
