The History Of Chrysler In Pictures
This week's A-Z gallery stays in the US of A for another of America's big three
Back in 1925, Walter P. Chrysler - Time Magazine's Man of the Year in 1928 - started up a new American luxury brand to compete with fellow Yanks Cadillac and Lincoln after resigning from his presidential position at Buick. Soon afterwords, Chrysler started an empire by purchasing Plymouth, Desoto and Dodge, later adding Ram, Jeep and Mopar to the portfolio. Chrysler's future in 2009 was in doubt though, as the company was bankrupted under Daimler ownership. In June of that year, however, Fiat and the US government bailed them out. Let's check out some of the best creations over the last 87 years.
