Despite sharing a motor show with hypercars and dream garage Porsches, Honda’s cute but achingly cool Urban EV Concept was our star of Frankfurt.

Honda isn’t done trying to make electric cars cool, though, if the Urban’s follow-up is anything to go by. It’s called the Sports EV Concept, and so far we’ve only seen the teaser image above, and been given a few titbits bits of information.

Honda is promising a car with a “striking silhouette, friendly face and supple body surfaces,” that will provide “a feeling of joy and emotional unity to the drive.” So far, so vague, but we don’t have long to wait until we see the thing in full: the concept will have its full debut at the Tokyo Motor Show on 25 October, sharing a stage with the new CR-V and a “Super Cub celebration” to celebrate the diminutive motorbike’s 60th birthday.

I mean, hey, if they keep with the classic car designs, I don’t think it could go wrong? Would be neat to see a modern interpretation of a S600 (albeit generally bigger due to safety regulations and stuff changing over 50 years) as an electric sports car.
