This Is How Angry A Future Subaru WRX STI Might Look

You’ll remember the recent Subaru Viziv Performance concept; the one that previews the next WRX. Well, they’ve only gone and beefed it up for an STI version.

We already knew it was planned, but now there’s a teaser image of the concept’s sharp lines and fiercer bodywork.

The updated concept will be on display at the Tokyo Motor Show. It has a new front bumper, new side sill extensions, a traditional STI big rear wing and a few hidden secrets.

Prime among those is what the engine will be like. It’s going to be a hybrid, sure, but with what kind of internal combustion element? We understand the engine will be downsized, but that it should maintain the flat-four configuration.

Either way, we’re going to miss the rudeness of the current one.

Is there something wrong with normal headlights and door handles? Why are concepts so intent on removing them 😂

Looks better than the Type R. Hopefully it doesn’t have those awful fake plastic vents and cheap bits that are all over the hideous Type R.

Ah, I see they ripped the Tail light design straight off the current Civic Type R, then squished it a bit

The issue I have here is even if this were a might for the WRX when it comes to concepts vs the production model they always fall flat. I remember how excited I was over the first look at the current generations concept. It was so mean and aggressive and striking, then came the production version and while a lot of folks compare it a Mitsubishi I myself see Volvo S60 and that isn’t anywhere near what it looked like as a concept.
