How Many Brake Discs Can A .50 Cal Sniper Rifle Shoot Through?
Ever wondered how effective used brake discs are at stopping bullets? Wonder no more...
It’s time to answer one of those questions no one asked, as we watch a man shoot at a bunch of old brake discs with guns of differing sizes.
The video takes around three minutes to get to the point (you may want to skip to around the 2min 50sec mark to avoid the waffling, adverts and singing), and what we learn is this: if you want to shoot through a few brake discs, you’re going to need something massive. Like a Barrett M82 sniper rifle using a .50 calibre round.
We’re not certain what use that information is, nor why Matt from DemolitionRanch keeps referring to what he’s shooting as ‘callipers’, but regardless, this sure is fun to watch.

This is why armoured cars have solid rims and thicker discs.
Heart-braking
(delet this)
Well… I learnt that guns are boring.
Bye he’s shooting from the bed of a ford raptor
He’s shooting caliBer’s not calipers. Caliber is the size of a bullet.
You have the perfect excuse to browse YouTube during work.
“It’s for an article!”
If Volvo made brake rotors the answer would be 1
Cringe everytime he calls them “callipers” 😑
