How To Re-Enter A Live Race Track The Wrong Way
When Paul Fix spun off during the Trans Am First Energy 100 at Mid-Ohio on 13 August, his return to the live race circuit was all kinds of wrong!
The No. 12 of Todd Peterson was also caught up in the incident. All of the drivers involved got out of their cars on their own steam and were OK, which is lucky considering the force of the impact. It’s a great example of how not to re-enter a track mid-way through a race!

My thoughts when he approached the track…
Paul fix better find a way to fix this one
The corner workers blew this one, if you watch the complete in car from Tristan’s car there were no flags thrown to alert him/others to slow down, of course Mr Fix was going to be pissed at the time, one would’ve expected yellows to have been thrown for an incident in that corner, and for cars to not be comming threw at full speed. According to the telemetry from Tristan’s car he was still traveling at 80mph at point of impact.
As in all cases it’s always best to have All the information available before passing judgement.
He first first went off at station 11 and they where standing yellow. Then Mr Fix started to go counter race in the grass to ware station 10 can not see what the car was doing. By the time Fix left station 11 counter race to the time he went back on track was less then 5 sec. Even if station 10 put a flag up Tristan would have never seen it. I know all of this because I was the assistant flag chief that weekend and we talked to both stations.
