A Huge Chunk Of Highway In Atlanta Collapsed Following A Massive Fire
The I-85 in Atlanta, Georgia is now missing around 30 metres from one of its bridges, after being engulfed in a huge fire for an hour and a half.
The fire started at 6.00pm local time on Thursday, fueled by a large stock of PVC pipes. It’s not currently known what started the blaze.
With around 250,000 vehicles using the bridge every day, its collapse is catastrophic for the local network. Given how extensive the damage is, it’s estimated that repair work will take several months.
While it’s the northbound section that’s collapsed, the southbound carriageway will also be closed until the damage can be assessed. Local business are said to be pushing their opening times later to compensate for the traffic hell their employees will be forced to sit through.

My fadw was a trucker for about 20 years and dro c.f. e on this strwtch of road hundreds of times, the way he tells it the road was in need of work every single time, could have been part of the reason for such a catastrophic failure
I wonder if this was caused by a Mustang…
